Guess Marks

Rory wants to read all the bedtime stories now, which makes bedtime take a lot longer, lol. We've been taking turns reading, he reads one and I read one. Anyway, tonight he was reading "Hop on Pop," by Dr. Suess, and I noticed that he was using inflection when he got to sentences with questions marks. Completely appropriately. It surprised me, since most new readers don't do that, and I know I've never told him about it, so I asked him if he knew what "?" was. He said, "Yeah, those are guess marks. It means it's asking." I don't know where he learned it, and neither does he.
